The annual Richards Castle Soap Box Derby will be back this summer, taking place on Sunday 9th July 2017 on Hanway Common.
The gates open at 10am, children under 16 are free and just £5.00 for adults making this a great family day out to see the thrills of Soap Box racing. The day has a packed programme of entertainment from Landrover Club, Lawn Mower racing, Ludlow Autograss, local car clubs, bouncy castle, face painting plus an array of food and drink.
Since the first cart rolled down the hill in 2004 an amazing £90,000 has been raised for local charities – a phenomenal amount for a community event run by volunteers. The success has been down to the generosity of the drivers, businesses and local people who flock to the hill to see the thrills of Soap Box racing. This year sights are firmly set of breaking the £100,000 figure, please get the date in your diary and join us for the 14th annual derby and one of the best Soap Box events in the country. The committee is busy planning the the 2017 derby and we are pleased to announce our chosen charities -
